Occurrence:
The Common carp lives in lakes and the slow-flowing
rivers.Their oxygen demand is low. Some species like the leather
carp and the mirror carp
can absorb the oxygen through their skin. It can be found in every
plake and river in Hungary, but it prefers the small bays and stones.
In autumn/winter when the water is becomes more and more cooler the
carp migrates in to the deeper parts of the lake. At spring the carp
often pecks
small animals along the coast.
Fishing: At spring and
autumn carps prefers eating small animals (like worms) so we
recommend to use living baits.
At winter the carp prefers eating spam.We recommend using corns only
in the summer.
Description: The back
is greenish or brown, and the belly is white. It has 4 whiskers (two
above and two below) The carps wears various amounts of scales.
The least scaled carp is the mirror carp, and the nearly unscaled
leather carp however they also wear scales at their abdomen and fins.
